  • I believe your right. They know there’s oil there, and they’ll justify it by saying: How can you expect us to undergo all this cost if we can’t recoup some of our loses. Whatever the current fines may be, double them-at the very least-, and no more dithering on settlements to the lives and livelihoods disrupted.

  • They sure haven’t laid off the talking heads on TV who keep bragging about all the great cleanup their doing and that they’ll be there till the job is done. the 100′s of aircraft looking for the oil and the 1000′s of local fishermen going out everyday to clean it up.BP= bastards of propaganda

  • First the BP Gulf oil spill, now we see that the second one has blown up in Louisiana. I sure hope that this doesn’t mean more environmental destruction. On the other hand, this country needs this homegrown energy. This such a complex scenario to figure out. I’m not sure what the solution is.

  • Funny how the BP oil spill is hardly mentioned anymore. Wonder how many animals were killed overall by the stupidity of BP officials? If you or I throw a few barrels of oil into the Gulf we’d be sitting in prison now. Yet the greedsters responsible for this ecological catastrophe are walking around still living the high life, breathing free air. Where’s the justice?

On the subject of environmentally friendly electric power, my son and I built a no cost electricity power generator last week using this blueprint. It was actually really simple to make, even though I’m not much of a handy person. It is really cool. We take it hiking and use it to run our compact devices. Contrary to solar power systems, this device appears to work rain or sunshine.

  • Does anybody else have anything to add about disperants? Is that an environmentally friendly environmental cleanup method?

  • Roger Green

There is concern about dispersants use, much of which does not make the press because industry (and too often government) want to use dispersants so the concerns and the scientific studies on the negative side of dispersants use don’t get out there. A good source of information is at the PWSRCAC website. Google for PWSRCAC (which is a govt-mandated NGO), then under pwsrcac.org click on the link PWSRCAC-Dispersants. There is extensive discussion of dispersants and problems with their use, and also lots of references to scientific publications and links to other sources.
